Radiographic and Histologic Study After Infusion of Contrast Media into Rabbit Submandibular Gland

Abstract

가토의 악하선 50개에 생리식염수 및 5종류의 방사선 조영제를 정상용량과 과용량 주입한
후 방사선학적 및 조직학적으로 관찰하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
1. 사용한 모든 수용성 조영제는 서로 유사한 방사선사진상 밀도를 보였으며 정상 및 과
주입의 경우에 5분정도후에 흡수되었으나 Telebrix 30은 주입후 30분까지 소량이 잔존하였
다.
2. 지용성 조영제 Lipiodol UF는 우수한 방사선사진상 밀도를 보였으며 투여후 24시간에
도 잔존상이 관찰되었다.
3. 생리식염수를 주입한 타액선에 있어서는 주입직후에 미약한 관확장만을 관찰할 수 있
었다.
4. Telebrix 30은 주입즉시 및 24시간후에 상당한 정도의 관확장과 염증소견이 관찰되었
으며 이것은 과량주입시 더욱 심하였다. 7일에는 타액선의 상당한 섬유증식 상이 관찰되었
고 과량주입한 경우 부분적인 조직괴사가 관찰되었다.
5. Hypaque 60%를 주입한 경우 Telebrix 30을 주입했을 때와 유사한 조직변화를 보였으
나 주입 7일후에 좀더 심한 조직파괴가 관찰되었다.
6. Urografin 60%는 본연구에서 사용한 조영제 중에서 가장 미약한 조직변화를 보였다.
7. Biliscopin 주입시는 약한 관확장이 보이다가 정상용량 주입 인 경우 7일후에는 정상크
기로 돌아오는 소견을 보였으나 이때 상당한 염증반응과 조직괴사부위가 관찰되었다.
8. Lipiodol UF는 다수의 조영제액포와 함께 심한 관확장을 보였으며 주입후 7일에는 조
직섬유증식상을 보였으나 조직괴사부위는 관찰되지 않았다.

50 submandibular glands of rabbits were examined historadiologically after infusion
with normal and over volumes of physiologic saline and 5 radiographic contrast media.
The results were as follows:
1. All water soluble contrast media showed similar radiographic contrasts and
absorbed about 5 minutes after infusion except Telebrix 30 which took 30 minutes in
both normal and overfilled glands.
2. Lipid soluble medium, Lipiodol UF had excellent radiographic contrast and could be
seen on the radiograms even after 24 hours after infusion.
3. Salivary glands infused with physiologic saline didn't show any histologic changes
except slight duct dilation right after infusion.
4. Telebrix 30 caused mild to moderate duct dilation and inflammation at immediate &
24 hours after infusion which was more severe in overfilled glands. At 7 days after
infusion, there were mild to moderate fibrosis of the gland and areas of necrosis was
seen in overfilled glands.
5. Hypaque, 60% showed similar histologic reactions to Telebrix 30 except more
severe tissue destruction at 7 days after infusion.
6. Urografin 60% showed mildest histologic changes among the media used in the
study.
7. Biliscopin had mild duct dilation which returned to normal after 7 days but there
were moderate inflammation and tissue necrosis at that time.
8. Lipiodol UF showed severe duct dilation with numerous vacuoles arid there were
tissue fibrosis at 7 days after infusion but no tissue necrosis was seen.
